Dr. Tony LoBianco is the Principal Investigator and Project Director of the Kentucky Post School Outcomes Center (KYPSO). He has been with the Human Development Institute (HDI) since 2002 and KYPSO since 2006. Dr. LoBianco has an extensive background in research methods and evaluation with advanced degrees in political science and public health. He has published in the fields of disability, special education, psychology, and health. Dr. LoBianco coordinates the activities of KYPSO and uses them to advocate for transitioning youth with disabilities. Dana Manning is a Research Coordinator for the Human Development Institute (HDI), working with programs to manage, clean, standardize, and validate data. She has broad experience in many aspects of data design, collection, and analysis, and their application to program improvement. Dana’s work with the Kentucky Post School Outcomes Center (KYPSO) includes processing the target group and respondent data for the annual Youth One Year Out surveys (“YOYO”), calculating the federally-required statistics, and creating individualized feedback reports for each district and Special Education Regional Technical Assistance Center (SERTAC). Dr. Deborah Taub is a Programmatic Transition Expert with the Human Development Institute (HDI) at the University of Kentucky. Previously she was a part of HDI and ILLSA, where she supported students with disabilities in inclusive standards-based instruction and provided technical assistance to states on alternate assessments based on alternate academic achievement standards. Following her time at HDI, Dr. Taub held positions in higher education, preparing in-service teachers to better employ inclusive practices. Concurrently, she provided technical assistance and support for states, districts, and schools to build sustainable system change to better meet the needs of students with disabilities. Dr. Taub’s previous experience includes job coach, special educator, researcher, and professional development expert. She also helped develop transition-related educational materials for Dan Habib’s award-winning film “Intelligent Lives,” highlighting the importance of person-centered planning and high expectations. Dr. Taub is returning to HDI to join the Kentucky Post School Outcomes Center (KYPSO), assisting Special Education Regional Technical Assistance Centers (SERTACs) and school districts with interpreting post-school outcomes data and identifying how it informs school-age programs and instruction. Mary will be working as a Research Coordinator to support the KYPSO team. She will be using her background with large data sets, data analysis, and extensive experience in organizing and drilling down into data to help promote continuous quality improvement. Chelsea Bocard is a Human Development Institute (HDI) Project Assistant. Chelsea can help with general questions regarding the Kentucky Post School Outcomes Center (KYPSO) and the Youth One Year Out (YOYO) former student interview. Chelsea provides technical assistance to district personnel and agency partners, assists with training, and designs and develops products to ensure accessibility.
